More and more people are signing up for internet ISPs AND AOL. Access to everything appears to be the way to go. I think we will all be surprised how many new customers AOL will pick up over the next few years; people (like me) who are already on the net.

<<I guess I didn't express myself clearly,.....>>

As Mary Meeker has said, people who are associated with AOL either as users or investors understand the value of AOL and its potential. I think you are one of them and I am too.

Gotcha. Re: no real need for speed & bandwidth---You are absolutely right, at least for the moment until some dramatic breakthroughs occur in those fields, and I will take it one step further: Most people DO NOT NEED PC's. The media has gotten everyone snowed thinking they need computing power, and for what?? To surf the net, trade online, use spreadsheets, do word processing and send it to a printer, send and receive email, etc.? Not! I do all of that over my $79 internet receiver, that audio/video stores have been selling for years. And I never have to worry about making sure my antivirus software is up to speed, or deal with system administration, error messages, bugs, crashes or tech support.

When AOL hits the market with their settop boxes this summer maybe more people will take advantage of this modern convenience. I've actually spoken to internet support personnel at large online brokerages who have never even heard of internet receivers, and recently.
