Loanshark99, Good memory. I would not expect GDM to ever rise from the dead. This is my understanding of the situation. It goes something like this... The SFD at Pinnacle and the SFD used by GDM are one and the same only there is a major distinction. That distinction is that GDM never owned nor had exclusive rights to the technology. (Actually two distinctions. The SFD at the time of GDM was the prototype and limited to the van and hence roads. Very first generation if you will. Since then the SFD of today would not resemble at all the SFD back then. Significantly more data intensive, on a plane, etc. etc. However, to continue with the GDM saga... ) George Liszicasz, inventor of the SFD and CEO of Pinnacle Oil (which did not exist at the time of GDM) met one of the principals of GDM. Sam Higgins rings a bell with me. GDM agreed to pay George a joint venture interest in any prospects George found with the SFD. George was never an employee, nor shareholder, nor connected in any way, shape, or form with with GDM other than GDM would pay him an interest in any oil found. However, it never really went anywhere because all of the money in GDM disappeared or was wasted or something like that. As an unlucky shareholder you may remember what happened to GDM and its key officers and the money better than I. In fact, from what I have heard, George was instrumental in having the Vancouver Exchange investigate GDM, halt trading, and later sued GDM himself. Eventually George hooked up with reputable businessman Dirk Stinson, former president of Pinnacle that Dan Topolinski replaced, and they brought Pinnacle into existence as the exclusive licensee of the SFD technology for hydrocarbon detection. No more joint ventures with questionable companies was the lesson they learned. The GDM garbage was all put to bed a year or two ago or maybe even longer. Legal counsel at Pinnacle can show you sworn affidavits by GDM officers disclaiming any rights to the SFD. Here the name Mannon Walters, VP Exploration for GDM rings a bell. I think I heard that Mannon was also trying to sue GDM at one point for misleading him as well. Something like that, I may be wrong. I have spoken with a couple of GDM investors now and what amuses me, and kills them, is that GDM could have parlayed a joint venture into becoming a huge, huge company. Instead, some funny things happened at GDM, and as a shareholder you got screwed. GDM made claims to things they did not have the rights to (again, read the affidavits) and as they say, "What happened to the money?" Anyway, GDM is dead and buried as far as Pinnacle and the SFD is concerned, and probably dead and buried as far as GDM shareholders are concerned. Fortunately it did not suck George into the morass as he had no connection to the company. Instead he has gone on to great success and the fact that he is able to attract the #3 person from Renaissance, Dan Topolinsky as President, and the #2 or #3 person from CamWest, Jim Ehrets as VP of Operations should tell you everything you need to know. I have got to think that the industry is abuzz about why two gentlemen of this caliber have joined Pinnacle. The Stephens people thoroughly investigated this matter too before they had CamWest sign a huge contract with Pinnacle and bought so much stock they became the third largest shareholders in the company. Who would you invest with if you had to do it all over again: Sam Higgins, or Dan Topolinski and Jim Ehrets and Stephens watching over everyone's backs? Watch and we shall see. By the way, I am truly amazed at how much information is out there in SI and this group. Hats off to you Loanshark99 for bringing up GDM. I am impressed.
