Yes, if it was for institutional buying, they would go for a second offering. My guess is that those with 'beneficial ownership' want to dump some shares and generate some cash. Splitting now allows then to have it in 6 months (or the existing shares now) when they will be able to sell. Could be either for personal or company sells though

One would think so at a price of $14, but what do I know. It probably makes no difference as the run up now and prior to split will probably leave it at $10 again anyway.
