paul...ototot the early eighties was great, i used to stay at the new meridien on lower orchard, competition between hotels was incredible, had my own private concierge, would get gifts like wallets, scarfs, fruit, candy, every time you returned to the room...shangri la was right below scott on orchard?...had the roof top pool?....durian from malaysia and thailand..you can get durian products in usa at oriental grocery..remember durian cream filled cookies...just got to get by the smell!!!...you do know the most desirable durian is that which has been ingested and processed by the elephants!
