Auric - it won't be a cash drain much longer.

Apparently, the street agrees with me (after all, why is the price 12 7/8 today instead of 6? sustained mass delusion?)

SEC approval over VTS is a competitive advantage of sorts. And you're right - the PHLX doesn't mean shit - it is just a platform through which ATG gets to launch its ATS modules without SEC review, through the 20-day pilot notice which is part of the pilot program provisions of Reg ATS. What may matter is the for-profit exchange they are now submitting for SEC approval, NextExchange, or the NYSE, which may yet have more than a passing interest in technology that you are so quick to trash but so slow to try and understand.

Having an internet commerce related subsidiary about to launch an IPO which provides e-trading data on a daily basis to CNBC, is a content link to AOL, and is cited by countless sources in the financial media (including the WSJ) doesn't hurt.

No - it's not personal friends, Auric - I don't know anybody at ATG personally. It's about looking at something for what it is, and what it will be, instead of trying to fit it into a tired old formula for trashing anything that spikes faster than you think it should.
