I think you mean the "maximum pain" analysis that some folks do.... they figure out which strike has the largest open interest and then bet that the stock will close below there thus "maximizing the pain" of the option holders... the market makers are just handling the orders of the Big money that wants to push price; they're just the tool of the larger manipulators... or so the theory goes. I know that there are websites that do this "max pain" analysis but unfort. don't have a URL for you... sorry.
