Hi Florid One--thanks for keeping the gang straight on which Jacobs is running the show down in San Diego. The only raid Irwin ever conducted was on Ericy's treasury, and I will assert without fear of contradiction that he did so with the blessings of all the faithful. Happy to see the thread whipped back in shape--never does it shine brighter than when it roars to the defense of the embattled Q. Now we got David being assaulted by the Wall Street Journal Goliath (again) but the reporting is soooooooooo bad, it's hardly worth more than a few quick thrusts. Anybody taken a look at Dow Jones' revenue and profit numbers for the last decade or so? And these guys think they're in a position to take pot shots at Qualcomm? Based on what? Gimmee a break. OTOH, literary founts of wisdom that I typically hold in much higher esteem, e.g. Red Herring, provided this enlightenment in their June issue (page 129) : "And satellite communications service providers are in a race (led by Iridium) to bring their big visions to fruition." LED BY IRIDIUM???????? As any sentient being with an IQ in medium double digits knows, the only thing Iridium is going to lead to is a crater in the earth's capital crust about $5 Billion in diameter. Don't give up your SI subscriptions just yet boys and girls: with a few minor exceptions, I find the quality of info available here light years ahead of the establishment media.
