Thanks for your question. Again, I do not like to comment on other companies.

The information that I am giving below is based on my best knowledge; please check with the companies for more accurate information.

Waverider is an interesting company that I have commented on earlier. Please check earlier posts for some ideas. Since my last post on them, they have acquired a US company. As far as I know, that acquisition gave them some existing customers but not the most competitive products. As far as I know, we have not met Waverider in the market place.

Breezecom is a competitor of Wi-LAN's in the 4.5Mbps market. They have assembled a very good marketing team and are very aggressive in their sales. They have won awards for their marketing. Their products were initially more geared towards the wireless local area network market and hence were lower cost and did not provide large range. They have made a number of upgrades and have demonstrated better ranges. Their technology is frequency hopping which by FCC rules has a lower speed limit than our multicode direct sequence technology of the Hopper Plus. We believe that our advantage over Breezecom is in the speed of the product and our adaptive polling protocol. Their advantage over us is in the marketing activities. We were hesitant about pushing very hard with our Hopper Plus product since it was not intended to be the main product of the company. We plan to be much more aggressive with the 30Mbps W-OFDM products which should be launched soon. We hope that the next two years will show the results of our technological leadership in this market.

I hope this gives some indication of my thoughts on the two companies. For more up to date information, please contact the companies.
