*OT* Hi Rudedog - In this case it appears to have been something in SI, as several reported the problem and I received a note back from the webmistress that it was fixed. Magically, the thread headers are back. I did notice that each header now shows a count of new postings which I never saw in the past, so my guess is that SI was tinkering with adding this feature and that there was a bug introduced somewhere along the line...

Best regards,
John

Several of us witnessed the same thing and I did nothing other than view SI during the entire time from before it started to happen to after it returned to normal. I did log on and sign off several times during that period and it was consistent. I have no doubt that your theory is sound but in this particular situation I don't believe it was a change in my system. It would have been quite a coincidence that several of us noticed the problem over the same time period if, in fact, it was something different about our individual systems rather than something in SI.
