"What is the short term target price for this company? Is this a good long term hold as well?"

You probably need to have several different perspectives on this, not only mine.

(1) No one knows a short term target --- absolutely no one. The price merely moves on "hype" or lack thereof --- not fundamental issues such as earnings, growth or even lack thereof.
(2) No one knows whether it is a good long term hold -- depends on whether there is any chance that any of the hype will come true. My opinion are that those chances are remote. Thus I don't believe in the long term hold.

What is pretty clear is that those who have held the stock for a long time have seen lots of dilution.

Those that have actively traded --- buying and selling with the ebb and flow of the hype have been able to make money. The CEO is the best example of that.

I suggest for a sincere perspective on the bullish side that the poster known as "RAY" respond --- he will provide a good overview for you that I could not <since I disagree with this view>

One other thing to watch out for is whether RMCC is "piggish" or not.

Bryan:

I have watched this stock on and off since the first hype in July of 1997 touted billion of barrels of Kazakh oil. The following chart speaks volumes:

beta.iqc.com

Having learned about E & P companies and the oil services sector through the school of hard knocks (I have at one time or another "invested" in HEC, SEV, OIL, BNO, AIPN, ABACF, AKSEF, IRPPF, etc, etc...), my personal opinion about this stock is that it may spike here and there as rumors or possible deals materialize, but you will have to have incredible patience and an iron stomach to sit it out and wait for any long term value to materialize. It may very well make you a great deal of money, but there are so many other places in this sector you could place your money that entail less risk and more assured rewards. Just my two cents worth.

(To answer the inevitable questions, I'm 6'1, haven't owned any shares since 7/97, don't have any intention to, and I read this thread because I like a good laugh now and then... oh, and I don't like spam.)
