Lorne, the calculations look good mathematically. A representative 200 tonne sample would contain 30 gem quality stones > 1 carat which represents 1 stone for every 7 tonnes. Total weight of these stones is 45 carats or .23 carats/ tonne. Total value of these stones works out to $43,550 U.S. or $968 U.S./carat (WillP figured $700) This works out to $225 U.S./tonne is gem quality stones and $75/tonne of "Indian Goods". His calculations account for the $300 U.S./tonne valuation of which 75% are contained in gem quality diamonds. It would be possible to have $300 U.S./tonne of low quality diamonds but you'd need lots of them. FN bought into Aber because they didn't listen to Teevee. Bob

The actual breakdown of diamond distribution on a size basis is only conjecture but his analysis works out assuming his dollar value assigned for each carat range is correct. Someone else may be able to comment on those prices. Bob
