The Thuraya site you posted and similar stuff I have seen for ICO reminds me of G* and Iridium a couple of years ago--they don't provide mass or size data for the UT's. Just state it's "similar to" GSM unit (whatever that means)and have a good looking model holding a mock-up. We'll see what their phones really look like and how they work in a year or two, I guess.
