Monty, You have the no party difference part right. Just think how different things would be if Social Security was in individual accounts that only you could access. The ironic thing is that with the wealth that would accumulate that way, the pols could really steal. Only they would have to wait and they have no patience. Kind of like the communists who had to settle for pocket change when they could have had real wealth but couldn't give up controlling everything. It will be real sad and traumatic if some of the more pessimistic predictions on this thread come true. The 1929 window bungee jump with no bungee. JBW
