Pd Madness:

........I went through the Pd numbers today, and found the following.

Pd Nymex open interest: 273,000 oz (2730 contracts) Pd Tocom open interest: 2,126,407 oz (40,503 contracts) Engelhard Tocom long position: 457,957 oz (8723 contracts)

If my numbers are right:

The Engelhard Pd Tocom position is TWICE the size of the total Nymex OI! The same position is about 1/4 of the Tocom OI.

Their position is huge when compared with the global market size. How could their taking such a long position not be an indication that they are bullish? On the other hand, since they hold so much of the open contracts, if they sell it could tank the market.

Any thoughts on what Engelhard could be up to?

Best regards,

THC
