Wow, I didn't mean to open up a can of worms! The discussion has been useful though. So it sounds like we all agree control is important, and whatever course they take, Ampex will still maintain that control. The incorrect assumption that I made was that exercising the option for majority ownership would give them 50.1% or 51% or whatever. It could easily be enough to IPO a fraction and leave Ampex in control.
