In high school we went on a field trip to the National Bureau of Standards laboratory. They have the opposite of an anechoic chamber there - sort of a "max echo" room. We went in there and made loud hoots and shrieks. It was cool - a "Yelp!" became this long-drawn-out "Yelppppppppp......!!" Took six or seven full seconds to decay.
I guess a duck could be put in there. Then a trained human observer would see if the duck said "Quack!" or "Quackkkkkkkkk.....!"
