QLOGIC Chairman Gary Liebl retires COSTA MESA, Calif., May 21 (Reuters) - QLogic Corp (Nasdaq:QLGC - news) Chairman GaryLiebl said Friday he would retire because he wanted to spend more time with his family and work on nonprofit interests. Liebl, QLogic's chairman since 1993 when it was spun off from Emulex Corp. (Nasdaq:EMLX - news), will be succeeded by H.K Desai, the company's president and chief executive. Liebl said he had planned to serve as chairman for only a year after the company's spin-off from Emulex, but had remained during its ''critical growth years.'' ''The company now has undeniable success momentum and a management team qualified to take it to the next level,'' he said. ''This is an excellent time for me to step aside. I look forward to finally having the additional time I desire for not-for-profit endeavours and more time in Maui for my wife and myself.''
