Did'ja look at the link? The corn has BT virus genes spliced in, which is fatal to caterpillars. Bacillus thuringiensis, it's considered ok to use in organic farming because it isn't a pesticide. They also use it to kill gypsy moth caterpillars, the county drops it from cropdusters around here. Generally regarded as safe, but the corn pollen, if sprinkled on milkweed, which the monarch butterflies eat, is fatal to the butterflies.

I don't think everything we eat is genetically engineered in the sense of having virus genes spliced into the DNA.

<<'scuze me but every thing you eat is genetically engineered.>>

Is that a religious statement, like GOD genetically engineers everything you eat? Unless that is the type of statement you are making, I would have to disagree.

There is a very long and SPECIFIC list of American food products that the Europeans want to keep out of their countries, because they are genetically engineered by SCIENTISTS. A trade war is threatening, because they are extremely serious about it. In fact, clergymen are leading protests on farms over there where there are genetically engineered crops, destroying them as a way of nonviolent protest. It will be very interesting to see what happens.
