Wow, thanks goldsnow.

My favorite part: ;)

<<Not all of the documents' messages were serious. The March 1996
memo detailed an offer Yeltsin made in jest after Clinton handed him
a document translated only in English.

"Foreign Minister (Yevgeny) Primakov said that he could read it, and
Yeltsin joked that since Primakov knew English, Secretary (of State
Warren) Christopher should now learn Russian," the memo related.

"The Russians would be glad to provide the secretary with a young
attractive instructress who would work with the secretary night and
day." Clinton joked that would change Christopher's droll image, the
memo said.>>

It is very convenient to be able to conceal so much of what our governments do from us under the guise of security...This ability basically gives them carte blanche... We really should know what they are up to IMHO--- that would be more like democracy ought to be...

For example-- Clinton has just admitted our nasty participation in the deaths and repression of thousands in Guatamala , 30 years ago... This rates a couple of lines buried deep in a few newspapers which hardly anyone even reads, much less cares about.. At the time I'm sure it would have created quite a response.
