Most of the neophyte Dell investors don't know what pain is (yet)... Some of them still expect the 3 digit gains to keep rolling in. It is amazing to read, they get upset when Dell doesn't go UP on schedule!!! They get margin calls when Dell goes down a 'couple' of points. If the tech market really tanks the margin call party will be something to watch. At least I'm not seeing those 'Get the bag Norton, we're rich' posts lately <ggg>. You are 100% right, they have not earned the privilege of moaning (yet)...

not to mention that MSD is chairman of the board at DELL. This is one of the reasons that Ben Rosen has been such a strong proponent of a BOD which is independent of the company's senior management - it creates a 'checks and balances' relationship which is absent in the kind of owner-operator scheme typified by DELL and MSFT.
