So they've got us by the nose, that still doesn't mean that we have to let them lead us. In a real "this is just the way the world is" sense, I too tend to agree with Neocon. But that doesn't make it right. I recognize that, in the scenario of the U.S. not doing anything about Milosevic-- and the ethnic cleansing (and potentially worse) happening while we do nothing, the nations of the world would indulge in a bit of Monday morning quarterbacking and would try to blame us for "letting it happen." But I also recognize that, regardless of our probable inability to counter that criticism, it is illogical, irrational and wrong. And I believe that being right is more important than not being criticized. Without idealism we can never grow. Sometimes making the objectively right choice will lessen you in the eyes of others.
