MSN is clumsy and awkward...do you use it here? I don't.

V:<<If MSN is going the free-route, doesn't this sink X-Stream's battleship; why would someone use X-Stream and not MSN?>>

You have to make your own decision on what this news means. It means to me that X-Stream has the right business model. That is why MSN and others are flocking to it. MSN has been losing customers per the article and, it appears, X-Stream is gaining customers. Whether or not free MSN can turn it around we will have to see.
Just like the U.S., some ISPs will survive and flourish and others will be gone. My money is on XSNI to be one of the survivors. Jeff

As an ex-MSN subscriber, I would not go back even if it was free.

I quit when they "upgraded" the interface -- it may be better now, but at the time, just checking my e-mail became a 15 minute process and I couldn't get back to the "classic" interface.

Why would the people in the U.K. go to X-Stream and not MSN.?? One major reason is x-stream is mainly a UK company although Canadians are involved. So most people patronize the home-town crowd but the biggest reason, I think, is x-stream was the first company to give the British people a break by offering free Internet, free e-mail, and free telephone. People don't forget that stuff. I mentioned earlier on that my long distance phone calls were costing me $200/month by the local telephone company. In comes sprint, and my bills dropped to $50/month - a saving of $150/month. Now the local telephone company is begging me to switch back and they will beat Sprint's prices. But no way! I'm sticking with Sprint. Like x-stream, they were the first to give me a big break and if it wasn't for Sprint or x-stream for that matter, the common person would still be screwed on price! That's not just me. All my neighbors and other people I talk to at work, feel the same way. Therefore, being FIRST (1st.) has a lot of power behind it and should benefit x-stream in the UK and throughout Europe, and the rest of the world, down the road.!!!!
