John: Thanks for the article....I read something similiar to this about a year ago. Concept sounds interesting but AT&T and others will most likely put a damper upon it...then you have the problem as to the regulation of such a commodity. Communications highway no different than traffic on interstates. FCC would argue that additional cost of traveling in a "faster lane" would be "unfair competition" to those who cannot afford the price. So...I see some regulation problems. On the other hand...you don't have this problem with "wireless". Yet...it is a technology/concept to keep an eye upon but I don't think I would jump on board until I became more familiar with the pros & cons of such a system. There is no doubt in my mind that the government is going to become more involved in data transmission upon the"informa-
tion highway"...rationale here is that moving packets of voice, video,
or data no different than moving product along the interstate. One cannot "reserve" the fast lane for those who can afford it. You could see a monopoly develop similiar to the telephone companies of the past and the government would step in and regulate in some similiar form.
