JP Morgan stepped in during the Panic of 1907...he was 70 years old. In 2 weeks he saved several trust companies, a large brokerage house and bailed out NYC and the Stock Exchange. He gathered the city's bankers in his library, locked the door and told them they couldn't leave until a plan was worked out. They all approved and signed his bailout package.
