good morning all... ben, i appreciate your thoughts on scur... am strongly considering taking a relatively small position this morning, based on the following thoughts... will watch trading for a while this am, then decide...

any input from the thread is always appreciated...

1) front page exposure on thestreet.com this morning... while the article is balanced and points out many of the negatives... this line near the top might catch people's eye... This could be just the strategy to jump-start the lagging stock.
thestreet.com

2) market cap = 60 million, annual revs = 60 million... competitors, even ones not doing too well, trade at 4X revs... The stock is trading at about one times both 1999 and 1998 revenue. Axent, meanwhile, is trading at four times 1998 revenue

3) takeover potential... can't help it, but am growing to love potential takeover plays... the security market could be the next area of expansion for server makers. "HP needs to get into security," says Lobo, "and Secure has a high-end Unix firewall [product]. It would be a good fit."

4) seemingly limited downside... 52 week range $2.68 to $29.00... closed yesterday at $3.62... how much lower can it go? and analysts predict 99 revs will at least be close to 98... Even though revenue for the first quarter deteriorated from a year earlier, Lobo still expects Secure to produce about $60 million in revenue in 1999. That's about $1.4 million shy of 1998's results.
