I disagree with the notion that easy monetary policy of the Asian Tiger countries is the sole reason behind excess capacity. A lot of it has to do with technology also.

As to the "bubble" discussion, in a post to michael I expressed my views on the differences of 80's Japan and 90's U.S. The only thing I add to that here, is that Japan's bubble started with its real estate market and its banks. That is why I monitor the real estate market very carefully. If you throw out New York and San Fran., I simply don't see the alarming signs yet, as evidenced by the performance of REITs.
