I won't pretend to know how many shares Ed want's or can afford. But I do know that most of the shares he presently controls is in his own holding company in which he is not the only investor. So that holding company would likely buy shares in the new IPO.

Also Ed has enough shares of Ampex that he could sell some to buy shares of the new IPO.

Actually, Carl, I am not even sure that 51% is enough to consolidate into the holding company. Few years back, when I was in the Biz, the holding company needed 65% ownership to consolidate, otherwise they were only able to carry on their book the investment at cost rather than at market and sales in subs were not counted, only dividend stream paid was counted as income. Anyone knows for sure how minority ownership is accounted for?

By the way, Carl, I just jumped back into NVLS, they gave me $59 yesterday and today they took $54.5, not a bad deal, if I am right (VBG).
