they were using this same information in December 1996 against the box makers. Is it any truer now than it was then? Boxes have expanded rapidly since. I wonder if Gates has ever tried surfing the web with a TV. Today they're mostly jokes, maybe not two years from now.

I'll see if I can find the report by the analyst in 1996 and post it.

more idle speculation...

1. ibm has answered pc demise by reaffirming commitment to its success
2. ibm stock is incredibly strong from 160 to 245 in a few weeks..
3. dell expanding..
4. all box makers reported great numbers..
5. all research reports indicate pc expansion..
6. etc...etc...

as always media overexposure craps on us all ...in the markets..politics..trajedies...weather...on and on...
