OT:
Please dont get ME wrong. I am not advocating that anyone carry guns or weapons around. Please see my original post to Freeus.
I dont believe that an armed population is the answer to the problems in today's schools and with kids in general. I'm also not in favor of more gun control measures. More laws dont answer the issues.

Guns at school make me nervous. I went to a West Texas school where we often brought guns to the parking lot. The school itself had a rifle team. The authorities would not allow knives with more than 3" blade, but guns were okay if you left them in your car.

Why would I oppose the same thing now? Because in our school we knew everyone. We knew who was stable and who was careless. We knew who had a bad day or broke up with their girlfriend.

Any school which reaches a population size where students can go unnoticed is not a safe place for weapons.

P.S. During my 4 years there there were two students killed in hunting accidents and one gun suicide. (None on school property)
