steve- Re: internet health sites
Im assuming with microsofts investment in welmedmd and all the hype surrounding healtheon deal last week, that internet medical sites are just starting to get hot, are we on the front end of a new trend? if so, do you know anything about scni? was close to bankruptcy, restructuring proxy being voted on now, but they have medical internet site, healtreport.com that rates hospitals for all kinds of major procedures, getting several million hits a month, stock closed friday at 1 17/32 from about .50 cents a week ago, trading 11-12x normal volume a day, if this is indeed a "new" trend, this would seem like a compelling value at these levels-what is your feeling on the internet medical potential?
thanks

mediconsult - after healtheon's multi-billion buy of webmd the question of valuations in this sector is extremely difficult

but its website seems thin on content behind the front door

and info i have says it's based in bermuda, which causes me some concern (are they surfing or e-surfing)?

1) i think healtheon is the consolidator of consolidators in the sector
2) those left without being acquired or acqriring will face larger rivals that move faster
3) the health care web arena is still nascent, i would like to see more value added innovation other than a health news site or encyclopedia of the body put up
