alohal: wash sale rule does NOT apply, to the tax class TRADER, which is worth positioning yourself into, even if you believe you are "just" an investor---and do not like the stigma of "trader"....
'''''It also simplifies your accounting, by about 1000% as far as I'm concerned.
'''''It surprises me, when people continue to bring up the wash sale rule...
'''''There are SO many advantages. And with on line monitoring, we should all be open to SOME timing moves....Look what ed is thinking about....this is a TIMING decision, in my book...
'''''My friend Garrett, is a tax planner, and monitors my account all the time...Right NOW, he's probably thinking I should get back to "business"...

IMHO Dell has a better chance of going to $32. than going to $42.

Should Dell go to $32. I believe it will be in less than 30 days, and I will be a buyer. My optimism has faded right now and being on margin there is no point in riding it down. If I am wrong (which has been many times) I will loose in the short term.

As for wash sale I am not familiar with the practice....

Good Luck!!!
