I monitor, and support hundreds of Windows 95, 98 and NT machines. I all the years I have been doing this, I have NEVER had a machine down for hours, let alone days due to a OS problem. Hardware problems are a different matter.

You said: "When Windows 98 or WinNT screws up, it can be minutes, or hours, or days before you get your system back. "

>> However, we simply don't know if Steve Jobs would have pulled the crap that Gates & Co. pulled, because Jobs and Apple never got the chance. <<

They blew their chance in about 1990... I could see that Windows may not have been "as good for most people" (I always preferred having access to the command line over the "point and click" of the Mac/Windows), but I could also see that the price point for PCs running Windows was going to eat Apple's lunch, and it did. Apple could have been a major contender, simply through major, early price cuts and licensing their OS to clone makers.... way back then...

B1-Win98: The 1 crash I have had was rebooted as quickly as my Mac boots. I must admit I had a ton of extensions om my Mac.
