Question for the thread,

Wouldn't STK be an ideal acquisition for EMC? They have over $2 billion in sales, and because they've be beaten up so badly recently, their P/E is down to about 13x.

EMC could essentially 'steal' this company IMO.

Just curious.

Cheers all,

James

Conservative? EMC? Sorry but I have to disagree. Solid investment. Yes! I guess in that respect it is conservative. Look at EMC's numbers last Q. Not bad, eh? The Y2K rational is backwards!! EMC's product line can help corporations with Y2K in a very cost effective manner. After it's all over they still have the "State of the Art" infrastructure to advance thier business. If you are in a Y2K crunch and need to test while staying on-line you have a ton of viable options; EMC, EMC, EMC... The ANAList who downgraded the stock should learn how to read and learn about the company and it's product. The Star Trek take off about storage is right on! Who's storage needs are going down? EMC took on IBM ( a great company! ) and took ate thier lunch with regards to storage! No small feat. EMC is moving quickly into the NT space. Big Market. I don't know a any other company that can pull of what EMC can.

DIEGO: I have not posted here in quite a long time. I have been
"lurking", but found I had very little to contribute. I agree with
your assessment about Reutgers; his reputation onthe street is
outstanding. He is noted for shooting straight. No nonsense, and
he does not mislead analysts or reporters. If he says that the y2k
problem has not nor does it appear that it will affect EMC's sales.
I believe him. I'm not worried about EMC in the long term, but I'm
very suspicious of the overall market in general and tech stocks in
particular. I'm nervous. Maybe I'm getting too conservative to
play options, even LEAPS. My 01's are probably safe ( my strike prices range from 95 to 115), but my 00's are in jeopardy( 5 contracts
with a 105 strike price, and 5 with a 130 stike price) I am pinning
my hopes on the split, and EMC's habit of running up in Q4. Oh well.
Its only money.
Good trading, Diego.
