. . . . . . . .Some Cautionary Notes. . . . . .

I remember shorts getting slaughtered trying to short SIEB in the 20s before going to 70 and sticking above 35. . . . or TUNE at 12 before it went to 60 and stuck at 45 . . or BAMM at 13 before it went to 45 and stuck in the 20's for quite some time. . .

Today many shorts were going into HAUP between 18 and 23 and are holding it there. With a 2.6 mil float that traded 5X today. . .I would guess there is a better chance that inventory will be slim and that new buyers will be ready with cash in hand. And seeing the sort of PR that company put out, I would guess that the news is significant and has a name like an ATHM or a BCST. . .someone that can turn some heads. . .if this is the case, shorts may get caught facing margin calls if the stock keeps advancing. . . 40 points is not outrageous considering the low inventory.

Note that I am not saying this stock is worth 40 bucks. . I doubt it is. . .but these low float stocks were designed with swing traders in mind. . . as momentum plays only. . . later. . . LONG after the hype and the craze is over. . .we will re-evaluate to see if it is worth taking a REAL position in. . . . but many times it is not.

Before PLAYING any of these types. . . be sure you know EXACTLY why you are playing. . .and have your targets set. . .take your profits and walk away happy. . . .don't set yourself up for disappointment by being greedy. . .that NEVER works. . . too many out there ready to take profits where they can.

And NEVER be disappointed when you leave with a profit. . . consider that the majority left with a loss. . . that's just the way the stock market is designed.
