Edamo, re:<< we must determine if dell is more than a "white box maker", and if the answer is truly yes, than the question in my mind is why the financial world is viewing them as this stagnant type of entity at the present moment. why not dispel the image clearly painted by the competition...why "the silence of the dells"....understand at the recent msdw event this week, msdw came away warm and fuzzy, still strong rec, but no clue of the future, beyond growing the core business, which the world "believes" as dying a slow death....why? >> I'll add to the puzzle. First Call's Earnings Valuation Report, dtd. May 20, shows a Current Recommendation as follows:

Strong Buy: 8 Analysts

Buy: 12 Analysts

Hold: 11 Analysts

Of course, many times a Hold Rating is really a Sell Rating. However, of the 31 Analysts, 65% are Strong Buy or Buy. So, if the "perception" of Dell was so poor, why the above ratings? I think the majority of the Analysts have maintained their per-earnings recommendations. Answer to my question....it's all a big game...drive down the stock's price, then recommend a buy to private clients. JMO

Edamo,

Would you be so kind to send some of your very outstanding commentaries to the Management of Dell and the Executive staff. I think they could be humble enough to appreciate some of your enlightenment.

Best Wishes
Frank
