Gord,
This is from today's G&M:

Staff and wires
Wednesday, June 2, 1999

$21.25, up 50 cents
Diamonds may be some girls' best friend, and shares of Dia Met were
undoubtedly some investors' best friend yesterday after Merrill Lynch
& Co. analyst Michael Curran reaffirmed his near-term "buy"
recommendation on the diamond producer's shares. Mr. Curran
predicts Dia Met stock could climb to $30.75 within the next 12
months. That's a rosy prospect for those who bought in a year ago at
$24.50 and held through last fall's market malaise that saw the shares
tumble as low as $15.15.

Gord & all,
As much as I'd like everyone to believe that I know everything, I failed to note the date of the annual meeting. (Such is the hazard of holding stock in street name.) So, to anyone who will be there, please pass on your thoughts either privately or on this thread.
For those sitting on the fence about going, let me say that I have never failed to profit by attending an annual meeting. About 10 years ago, I took a day off to go to Homestake Mining's meeting. They stopped the business at hand to vilify Boone Pickens for "drilling for oil on the street". Two years later when Boone came to call, I knew exactly what the board would do.
I will be at Southernera's meeting and will will gladly share anything I pick up with anyone who asks.
