Winstone is limited largely by memory latency, so a faster CPU core has minimal impact. K7 has a larger L1 than PIII, and PIII has a lower latency L2 than K7, so I estimate the clock for clock Winstone scores being a wash between K7 and PIII.

K7 was architected using techniques which produce good SPEC scores, so I expect that SPECint will be a little better than PIII, and SPECfp should be decidedly better than PIII.
