I don't often post, I'm just riding the waves on this one. I still believe in the long run we will all be happy, it won't happen overnight. DLJ does show my projected TIPS shares to be received on
6/30/99!

____________

is it all just B.S.?

Tony you are absolutely right! At first I misread the PR statement and therefore bought too soon. Yes I am on record but to get my shares of TIPS I must hold until the dividend date is passed. So far no record as been set so I will hold for a minimum of 2 months most likely.

With that finally setteled let me address those posters on RB that are saying their account has been credited with TIPS shares. Folks those individuals are lying to you. Since I have been online trading I have never seen so much lying and cheating in my life. Remember this is a dog eat dog world and with the emergence of the internet we expand are exposure to these kinds of people. I only wish I could actually confront these liars in person because I would kick the shi## out of them for deceiving so many. In fact I consider myself an astute investor however the times that I lost big were when I took credence in some of the posters remarks. Remember their posting that crap for a reason and it is due to greed and MONEY!

Why don't you people listen to tony p ,he is stating the facts, he is 100% right---the end. You can sell your stock and then buy it back again if you want. you take the chance of paying more to get back in before ex-div date, when ever it is. FORGET ABOUT THE 17TH OR THE 20TH IT DOESN'T MATTER ANYMORE. It's so simple..you own TNRG one day before the ex-div date ...you get TIPS shares.

People ..if you don't understand this you need help.

Tony, Yes, I agree, the 3 day settlement needs to be taken account of. Generally (but not always) a retail investor buys a stock but it does not actually happen for three days hence. THAT is what the big confusion SHOULD have been over i.e. what is the RECORD DATE? May 17th or May 20th?

The answer was made clear in the press release. It is May 17th ASSUMING that the buyer wouldn't get the shares for three days or May 20th, the official RECORD DATE.

The ExDate therefore was May 18th assuming that three days would pass making it May 21st.

In ANY CASE, today May 21st is clearly AFTER the record date, and actually for 99.9% of the cases the Ex date was actually three days ago, May 18th. As the press release CLEARLY stated, buy your shares by May 17th so that you will be a holder on the RECORD DATE of May 20th.
