Strangely, OT to AMAT but not to thread. How bizarre I'm up reading Buckley's nth National Bestseller Nearer, My God when I run across this passage. (It's deja vu all over again...) The Romans computed the hour of the day by their distance from sunrise; thus 'tertia' was the third hour of sunlight.
