When I was growing up I summered in Maine where my grandparents had a farm. We would hop on the tractor, drive out to the field, pick the slect ears, shuck them on the way back to the house, and pop them right into the pot Grandmother already had boiling on the stove. Maximum of 20 minutes from stalk to table. Talk about Ambrosia!

Honey and cream is better than silver queen. It's yellow and white but cooks up yellow. The best is Illini Super Sweet but it takes 89 days so it can't be double cropped. Usually the fatter the ear the more the corn. Slimmer ears have more cob.
