Kit, I think the confusion is Treasuries vs. other bonds. Treasuries are being issued at the lowest growth rate in decades while corporates and munis and mortgages are being issued in record size. They do not always run together. In fact, I remember a time when Junk Bonds yielded less than Ginnie Maes. One of my junk bond manager friends almost got fired for putting 25% of his fund into Ginnies. <g> So, weird spreads can happen in extraordinary markets.
