I agree about the low-end, Linux is best suited for that domain and is gaining market share on a daily basis. I am also not talking of terrabyte d/bs which most likely will not be deployed in the x86 platform any time soon (Solaris on x86 is there, but I just do not see Sun throwing away the meaty h/w rev by recommending x86 platform). But, I think that the mid range will benefit (like couple 20 gig databases with 15-30 concurrent users in each running 3GL server batch jobs at the same time) ...
