Slamdunk1,

You may not need to have access to every webpage out there but if someone released a product that did this which one do you think would be the best seller out of the two devices? As a shareholder of 3Com that should be a major concern.

Cheers,

Steve

I don't think the Palm7 is a lemon but..
The problem with the Palm7 is a platform issue

As you state in your email, you would want to use it for your Etrade account. The problem is that Etrade has to develop a specific app for this palmnet platform. Etrade and others would like to be able to develop one handheld (or Palmsized) wireless solution that works on many different platforms (CE, cell phones etc) - just like they want to develop one web site that works with explorer and IE. This is not possible with the PALM7 b/c for the interface is specific to the PALM7 and the BellSouth Mobitex network.

Of course the PALM3 could be used with a wireless modem to offer a more general platform with a tcp/ip interface.

I posted the following links soon after the Palm7 announcement. For the most part the analysis is still valid.
