Robert,

To elaborate further on your well taken points. Computers need to be digital because they require very high precision. Graphics and other images do not require much precision, and are well suited for high speed, low cost, high resolution analog circuitry.

Precision and resolution tend to work against eachother. An example of this is when you bump up the resolution of your computer's display, you may have to reduce the precision (bits per pixel.)

Robert - Re: "The Foveon analog chip camera already exceeds film quality "

How do you know this to be true?

Have you used such a camera ?

Have you read a review of such a camera ?

Please post your supporting evidence.

Paul

RE:"The Foveon analog chip camera already exceeds film quality – in short it
is better than traditional methods of image capture. That is what all the
excitement is about."...

Next question is...what is the cost structure up to and including retail.?
