Holding overnight and trading the same stock the next day can generate a margin call unless you are careful
This is exactly the problem I've been having with a daytrading account. The software (at least in RT3) wont help in preventing it, if you want to be sure to avoid a trading call you simply have to skip trading the "hot stock" of the day just because you held it overnight. I love to sell into a gap and then either short if it keeps rising or buy on the pullback if I still have faith in it running more. Why should I be disallowed these basic (and easy) trades because its a daytrading account?

You might be able to manually calculate how much daytrading power you need to stay under on the fly, but its far too much for me to do while worrying about watching the L2 every second.
