Change in portal page views not significant- shows seasonal only

While we keep hearing the alleged reason for the recent dip in AOL share price being attributed to AOL "losing portal hits due to competition", looking at the actual figures rather than only reading the hype of reporters lead me to the conclusion that the slight reduction in this month's page views vs last month is more attributable to schools getting out for summer and other season related shifts rather than fundamental long term changes. AOL still leads in viewers by a broad margin. Here are the actual figures per Reuters:

While the number of Web media networks and Internet gateways are increasing, visitor numbers are shrinking as the sites divide up the same audience between more players, an analyst said of new April Internet traffic data. AMERICA ONLINE, the No. 1 network of sites, including its online services and stand-alone Web sites, dipped to 46.4 million visitors from 47 million in the previous month. Its overall audience reach was 71% of the total universe of Web users.
