that's not right. I worked and got to know a marine sergent from Vietnam my first job out of school. He told me numerous stories about his experiences on the Front line, Kha Sanh, I think. Awed me to the max. Had buddies died in his arms, and many difficult situations fighting Viet Kongs, and lack of political backing back home. They triumped no matter. They would triumped and conquered some hard fought terrains, and then turned around and received order to abandon the conquered terrains because of some stupid politicians freaking out over protests at UC berkeley or some other freaking campus.

They are the bravest soldiers, like the ones that fought the Nazi's.
