Collin,

I'm afraid they are correct. The issue surrounding the DOR may be that you are gaurenteed the div shares if you are a share holder on the 17th. What defines a share holder? Unless you hold in cert form you are not technically a share holder, and thus the DOR doesn't apply. This being the case if you don't hold in cert form and sell your shares before the as yet announced ex div date then your div shares go with the sale. I know how you define the ex div date but that doesn't hold true to my experience with BANY/ANYI. Go back to the BANY thread and read through the 3800 series. Some people who held shares at there brokerage firm on the DOR and then sold before the ex div didn't get the div shares. People who bought between the DOR and the ex div date did get there shares. One guy who held on the DOR in cert form and sold before the ex div did get the div shares, but he was the only one that I could find that sold before the ex div date that still got the div shares. If you sold today, unless you owned in cert form you will not get the div shares unless you buy back before the ex div date and hold through it. People should go to the BANY site and see the experience for themselves. Look from post 3471 through about post 3819. Look at Brad Green and Bucks posts in particular.
