Natural Law is the measure of Positive Law, are we in agreement here Gustave? Positive law as such is as you said, arbitrary. The Nazis employed numerous legal devices to justify their actions, including making use of much retroactive law. Divorced from considered principles of morality, natural law, law is mere fiat aimed at the establishment of a social order.

What strikes me is that a certain ongoing discussion about the legality of deadly force was not addressed as an issue of justice by a certain party, but as an issue of statute. Irregardless of the jurisdiction or current law, if one is threatened with death, it is not just right, but *just* to intervene with all due force to prevent it.
