Jonathan and Jon, Thanks. That does clear up some fog for me. So, it looks like the only different impact that options have on your margin account, versus stocks, is with your equity calculation. I called them a while ago about the impact of clicking the margin button when I was writing a call. The answer I seemed to get was that it didn't make any difference in that case, and since I had a margin account, I should always click that button for every transaction anyway. Any thoughts on that? I too have found Dreyfus to be great to work with. I think their executions are really good. I do wish they could go to a dynamically updated account balance, like DATEK gives you, but then DATEK doesn't do options. Anyway, I have been pleased. Dave
